Pediatric ER Nurse Qualifications
These nurses must be able to handle the fast-paced, emotionally intense nature of treating ill or injured children. Before becoming a peds ER nurse, you'll want to meet the following qualifications:
An associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing
One to two years of recent experience in pediatric emergency nursing
An active registered nurse (RN) license in one of the 50 U.S. states
The desire to make an impact in facilities across the country
Many facilities also require current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications, as well as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Pediatric ER Travel Nurse Job Duties and Responsibilities

Caring for infants, children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of emergencies.

Documenting patient information accurately in electronic health records.
Completing daily tasks like starting IVs, drawing labs, monitoring vital signs, dressing wounds and assisting with procedures.
Working closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and child life specialists to ensure comprehensive care.
