After the year our healthcare professionals have experienced, it’s safe to say you’ve more than earned this week of honor and recognition for all that you do. Your willingness to go to the front lines on a COVID-19 travel assignment to care for patients in their most vulnerable hour is an honorable display of bravery and selflessness. We thank you for the sacrifices you made in 2020 as you worked a COVID assignment, and continue to make in the name of patient care.

Every day, nurses demonstrate extreme empathy, smart decision-making skills in tough situations, and adaptability always. Your willingness to step to the front lines during the pandemic came as no surprise to us, but inspired us nonetheless. You are our heroes who yield stethoscopes and a caring heart.

We hope you can take time this week to step back and see how much you’ve learned and how many lives you’ve impacted. The difference your presence makes in the hospital and by the bedside is immeasurable, but not to be taken for granted. Thank you for all that you have done, and continue to do, for patients and families nationwide.
