Number of assignments: 22

Number of years with Fastaff: 16 years.

Why do you love working with Fastaff?

Fastaff provides a level of service that is rare in today’s travel environment. Fastaff’s pay package is simple, straight forward, and well above average since I started. My recruiter, Rhieannon Gomez, is always there to help (like “Jerry Maguire” she “shows me the money”). When any unseen challenges arise, I can count on my recruiter through the good and bad.

She is impeccable and speaks to me with truth and integrity. Rhieannon is caring and listens very well. She lifts me up to believe in myself and my abilities. Fastaff understands that happy nurses equal a happy client.

What do you love about nursing?

I always wanted to be a nurse. I am “living the dream” as a nurse and feel like I can do anything. If you’re a travel nurse and have Fastaff behind you, anything is possible. It’s easy to talk about something you love doing and it’s wonderful to be given the opportunity to make a difference in lives.

What makes travel nursing rewarding for you?

I love to travel - seeing our country is awesome! Travel nursing is a gypsy lifestyle, which works for me. I have seen so many places and met so many different people of all walks of life. I have made friends with fellow nurses from coast to coast. I am thankful to be able to provide care and kindness to other and families in their time of need. It’s like giving back and paying it forward.

Describe a time where you felt more valuable/respected because of the experience and knowledge you gained from your Fastaff assignment.

Fastaff has helped me keep up on computer skills which are forever changing in the Operating Room and Nursing industry. They also give me the opportunity to work in different hospitals and work with different cultures.

What has been your most challenging Fastaff assignment (a difficult case, surgery, patient illness, etc.) and how did you feel that impacted your worth as a nurse afterwards?

I learned working as a team is the most valuable skill to get you through the most challenging cases or days. Being able to lean on other nurses, especially travel nurses who are there doing the same thing you are, can help through all the stressful times.

Describe the most miraculous or impressive thing you’ve witnessed or been a part of during your time as a nurse with Fastaff.

The miracle of life. I got to experience a set of twins brought into the world by C-Section and getting to see the love and joy from the parents. It was a miraculous experience.

How have you accomplished some of your personal and professional goals by traveling with Fastaff (i.e. family life, financial freedom, more personal freedom, etc.)?

Fastaff has allowed me the freedom to see much of the country and give my family a good life. Fastaff has consistently provided me above average pay, allowing me to work part of the year and be off with my family when needed.
