What first inspired you to pursue nursing, and what drew you to Fastaff?

I was first inspired to pursue nursing because I wanted a career where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives during some of their most vulnerable moments. Nursing combines compassion, critical thinking, and the opportunity to build meaningful connections with patients and their families. What drew me to Fastaff is the opportunity to use my nursing experience in different healthcare environments while continuing to grow professionally.

Yes, my Fastaff assignments have helped me expand my clinical skill set by allowing me to work in different healthcare environments, with diverse patient populations, and alongside different interdisciplinary teams.

Travel nurses step into unfamiliar environments. How do you adapt while delivering exceptional care?

Each assignment has challenged me to adapt quickly to new protocols, workflows, and equipment while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care.

What’s one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced as a travel nurse, and how did you navigate it?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced as a travel nurse is adapting quickly to a new facility’s policies, workflow, documentation systems, and team dynamics while still providing safe and consistent patient care. Every assignment is different, so I’ve learned to be comfortable asking questions, seeking clarification when needed, and taking the initiative to learn the expectations of a new unit.

I navigate these challenges by staying organized, being proactive, and building positive relationships with my coworkers. I focus on being flexible and open-minded while relying on my clinical experience and critical-thinking skills.

What would you say to a nurse considering Fastaff but unsure about rapid response travel?

I would tell them not to let the idea of rapid response travel intimidate them. It can definitely push you outside of your comfort zone, but it’s also a great opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. You learn to adapt quickly, become comfortable in new environments, and gain experience working with different teams and patient populations.
