Q: What do you love about recruiting for Fastaff?

A: “I’ve been a recruiter for a long time, and recruited for software developers prior to joining Fastaff. I love recruiting, the relationships you develop and the pace of the job. I specifically love the pace of working for Fastaff, things move quickly, and every day is different, and I love that our team thrives in that kind of environment. I really value the relationships with my nurses, and I feel like I’m making a difference not only for hospitals and patients, but also for our nurses – we pay them what they’re worth and set them up to do a really great job and find a lot of success.”

Q: How has working for Fastaff made you a better recruiter?

A: “I’ve definitely become a better recruiter because of Fastaff. We move fast, and you have to stay organized, and you have to maintain your relationships. We are a small company, but with the volume of jobs and nurses we manage, we have to be organized and adaptable. I’ve become a better recruiter by having to balance everything and find the resources to do it. This job has made me a better listener, and as fast as we move sometimes, I’ve really learned the importance of slowing down to make sure everyone is taken care of.”

Q: What is your favorite part of working with the nurses?

A: “Our nurses come to Fastaff for a reason – they are ready to show up, boots on the ground and have an incredible work ethic. There’s a level of trust, they trust me as their coach, and trust that I will do the right thing for them. I honestly get just as excited as they do when I find them that really great opportunity they’ve been looking for.

I really feel close to them and feel their ups and downs. My nurses are great. Some of the best out there. We pay well, so they work hard. I have nurses that have been with me since I started, they won’t go anywhere else –they’re willing to do what is needed, and want to work for Fastaff because of how we support our nurses.”

Q: Why is Fastaff different than other agencies?

A: “I compare our business to an EKG, so many ups and downs, but everyone is on board with the craziness. It’s not abnormal to see everyone in the office on Saturdays and Sundays, working hard and grinding for their nurses. That pace is what makes us unique, it’s part of the reason why I love it.

I’ve been overwhelmed by this group of people who are truly willing to get the job done. It’s amazing, everyone keeps coming back for more. You look at the tenure of this company and it’s incredible, so many people have been around a really long time, everyone loves it and the excitement. Even when it is “slow” there is this energy and excitement in what we do. It can be hard and it’s not for everyone. You really have to work hard and be passionate, it’s definitely not a 9-5 gig.”

Q: What do you do outside of recruiting for Fastaff?

A: “For the last ten years I have been a group fitness instructor at Lifetime Fitness. I have kids and a husband, and usually on the weekends you’ll find me at some sort of sporting event for my kids. I love it!”

Q: What is one thing people may not know about you?

A: “I am a fitness instructor and have 16 year old twin girls.”
