Why do you love working with Fastaff? 

Fastaff is reliable, they pay what is promised on contracts and they have good jobs.

What do you love about nursing?

Nursing gives me the opportunity to show genuine love and compassion to the sick. I am able to give quality care to patients and their families to promote healing. I also get to help patients and families cope by practicing empathy.

What makes travel nursing rewarding for you?

Travel nursing affords me the opportunity to see new places, meet and make new friends and gain a lot of experience from working in different facilities.

Tell me about a time where you felt more valuable/respected because of the experience and knowledge you gained from your Fastaff assignment.

I have had many experiences, but one of the most valuable experiences I’ve had was when I was taking care of a patient who came in with an overdose of multiple drugs evidenced by the empty medication bottle found on him. He was found down in a church parking lot and no one knew how long he had been there. We intubated and put him on full vent support, but no one expected him to survive.

I got the report and started caring for him. I asked the MD for a central line in anticipation that the patient could crash and if it happened, we would have a line. The timing was bad but I insisted and got what I needed to care for my patient. While the MD was documenting on what he had just done, the patient crashed.

We were able to go the nine yards and more. There was no break for us for over fourteen hours and with prayers, my patient woke up three days later intact and praying. Everybody was crying. This encounter strengthened me as a nurse and a caregiver. His family talked about it wherever they went and people I did not know were coming in and giving me thanks and talking to my manager about what we did as a team to help their family.

How have you accomplished some of your personal and professional goals by traveling with Fastaff?

Travelling as a nurse gives me time to work when I want and spend more time with family and friends. I am more financially stable because you earn more working for Fastaff than working for other companies. Fastaff pays well and what they tell you is what you get. They have incredibly helpful recruiters, too. When I called my recruiter, she always picked up the phone to help. It is exciting working with Fastaff.
