Why do you love working with Fastaff? 

I love working with Fastaff because they are a great company; offering the highest pay and best benefits. They treat me as an asset to the team, and they have the best staff!

What do you love about nursing?

I love nursing because every shift is a new experience. It is a rewarding career whether you are taking care of patients, comforting families, or dealing with management. Whatever it is, I am always making a positive influence or difference.

What makes travel nursing rewarding for you?

Travel nursing has been such a rewarding experience. My wife and I have been able to see parts of the country we would have never had the opportunity to see, let alone spend time there and enjoy the local culture!

Tell me about a time where you felt more valuable/respected because of the experience and knowledge you gained from your Fastaff assignment.

Working as a Fastaff nurse, you become accustomed to walking into a facility, locating their needs and providing a service to not only stabilize the unit you’re on but also to assist that unit in moving forward. After traveling with Fastaff, facilities notice immediately the difference once you arrive and how your past experiences with Fastaff have continued to excel your personal and professional growth in the field.

What has been your most challenging Fastaff assignment and how did you feel that impacted your worth as a nurse afterwards?

A challenging situation is inevitable when you are a travel CVOR/OR nurse. Often you must prove your knowledge and experience to not only your counter-parts but also the surgical staff at each location. But with every challenge you will grow as a person and a professional, and undoubtedly those that challenge you will become your fiercest advocate!

Describe the most miraculous or impressive thing you’ve witnessed or been a part of during your time as a nurse with Fastaff.

During an ice storm a few years ago, the facility was overwhelmed with orthopedic emergencies pertaining to broken femurs, hips, clavicles, etc. Due to the volume of emergencies, the last procedure would have not started until over 48 hours later with the current staff and faculty assignment, but because everyone pulled together from administration, surgical services, nursing, housekeeping and transport, we were able to complete all cases in less than 16 hours. 

How have you accomplished some of your personal and professional goals by traveling with Fastaff?

My wife and I have enjoyed not only financial freedom, but also the freedom to take time and enjoy life and see the country.
