Licensing by State-Colorado
Colorado is a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. If you are licensed in this state you are eligible to practice nursing in all NLC states with your license. View a list of all NLC states.
Colorado is a walk-through state. A temporary license may be obtained within one hour to one day's time and used to practice nursing while applying for a permanent license.View a list of all states that offer walk-through licensure.

In order to work in a compact state, each nurse must have proof of residence in a compact state in the form of a government issued ID showing an actual street address (current driver license) as well as a current, active RN license in said state. This nurse does not need to obtain licensure in any of the other participating compact states.
