FASTAFF Nurses Hit The Ground Running at Expanding Medical Center

When a facility is one of the busiest medical centers in the largest city in America, providing outstanding care to every patient must be a top priority. With an unsurpassed commitment to state-of-the-art technology and “state-of-the-heart” care from an extraordinary staff, one major research medical center in New York easily rises to the task. When this trusted hospital was opening two new med/surg units and expanding its busy emergency department, they wanted to make sure patients would continue receiving the high level of care expected of this respected medical facility.

Having already worked with FASTAFF for temporary nurse staffing needs, facility leaders knew they could count on the company to provide skilled nurses who could help the hospital handle any situation. They contacted FASTAFF to provide additional nurses to care for the added patient load during the demanding transition period.

FASTAFF responded quickly. Within a week, 15 FASTAFF nurses arrived, completed the hospital’s rigorous training and orientation, and began working alongside permanent staff, each handling a full patient load. Nursing at an extraordinarily busy hospital is a high-pressure job, requiring extremely well-trained professionals, so FASTAFF drew on its roster of seasoned nurses, who were accustomed to hitting the ground running in challenging situations.

The success of FASTAFF nurses’ abilities to meet the new units’ high demands led the facility to request additional nurses. At one point, 66 FASTAFF nurses were on site, working in the three new units. The FASTAFF nurses blended seamlessly with the permanent staff and immediately handled full patient loads while providing the continually high level of care the facility is known for. FASTAFF nurses helped ensure the success of the medical center’s expansion and the hospital continues to rely on FASTAFF for its urgent staffing needs.
