Introductory Steps In The Travel Nurse Application ProcessThe first three steps in the process to becoming a travel nurse are the most important. The first step is completing the application. Most agencies offer their application as downloadable PDFs and some offer an online application. Completing the application thoroughly is very important, as is providing the additional requested information. Additional information will include an I-9 form, professional references, a current physical or physician's statement, Hepatitis B documentation, TB screen, proof of immunity to Rubeola, Rubella, Mumps and Varicella, Tetanus documentation, licenses, professional certifications and proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. Once you've completed your application, a recruiter will contact you to discuss what your qualifications are as a travel nurse. They will go through several questions with you, asking about your specialties, licenses and certifications. Finally, the recruiter will ask for your location preferences. Depending on the amount of experience you have, the recruiter will recommend different assignments to you. After discussing your qualifications and reviewing your file, the recruiter will provide available options. They will then work with you to make sure that your file is complete; a necessary step to become a travel nurse. With a complete file, you could be on your next travel nursing assignment in as little as 7-10 days! |
