Final Steps To Become A Travel Nurse

As you progress through the process to becoming a travel nurse, you should be prepared with the necessary information in order to make the process go more quickly.

First, you must send in your application. A recruiter will contact you to discuss your specialty, licenses, certifications, years of experience and locations of interest. They will then discuss available assignment options and further completion of your file if necessary.

When your file is complete it is then reviewed, verified and approved. Upon approval a recruiter will present you with a variety of assignments. Together, you will go over these assignments to choose the best assignment for your needs. Your file will be presented to a number of facilities who will review your qualifications and decide whether or not to make an offer. From there you can accept the offer. Once you accept, an Assignment Agreement Letter (AAL) will be sent to you. This is the verification that you understand the demands of the assignment and are ready to take on the responsibility of being a travel nurse. You will go through the details and initial expectations of the particular assignment.

Next, you can begin choosing your housing options for the traveling nurse job assignment. Depending on where the particular assignment is, you will get a list of specific travel nurse housing options from the agency. In addition, they will also provide you with different means transportation and accommodations.

Finally, you will be on your way to your first traveling nurse job. Once you arrive, you should receive a follow up phone call from your recruiter. They will also be available throughout your assignment to answer questions about the traveling nurse job in general.
