Common Travel Rn Job Questions

When Registered Nurses consider taking a travel RN job for the first time, they often have a lot of questions about what the job will entail. Some of the most common questions about travel RN employment are: · Can a friend and I take an assignment together? · What is the assignment length for the travel RN opportunity? · What if I like the assignment and I want to stay there permanently? These questions are easily answered, although some travel RN employment agencies might differ. When it comes to getting assigned to the same travel RN job with a friend, it is usually not a problem, as long as both nurses have the same skills, experience and willingness to relocate. Often husband-wife teams find travel RN opportunities together. They share the same housing and work within the same facility in most cases. The length of a travel RN job depends on the assignment and the employer, but they typically last anywhere from eight to 26 weeks. The travel RN employment contract can be renewed and sometimes extended if both parties agree. As far as finding permanent work from travel RN opportunities, this depends on the assignment. Agencies can make arrangements that allow the position to change into a permanent position if the healthcare facility and the nurse mutually desire this agreement. Agencies are willing to work with their RNs to be as accommodating to their wants and needs. Most traveling RNs do not accept permanent positions, however, since the benefits of being a traveling nurse far out weigh those of a permanent staff nurse position.
