The following overview provides information on Regis University's exciting online RN to BSN Completion program. U.S. News & World Report ranks Regis University among the top 25 colleges and universities in the western region of the United States. Regis has been ranked among the top schools in the west for eight consecutive years. This ranking is based upon reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, and financial resources. Regis University RN to BSN Completion Program Overview Regis University's RN to BSN Completion program consists of prerequisite course work and ten upper division nursing major courses. As a registered nurse, you are awarded 33 credit hours toward your degree based on your prior education experience. Credit is awarded once you have successfully completed 12 credits in the nursing major with Regis. The Nursing major course work consists of a combination of an online "classroom", readings, homework assignments, and fieldwork. Fieldwork can occur in your local area of residence. Any outstanding prerequisite course work that was not completed in your previous education can be completed at a local community college, university, and/or by proficiency testing. The length of time necessary to complete the nursing portion of the program is 12-18 months. Courses outside of the nursing program can be taken concurrently, before or after the nursing courses. Currently the online program starts three times a year in the Fall, Spring and Summer. Semesters comprise a total of 16 weeks and include the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Courses in the RN to BSN program are divided into eight-week blocks and are referred to as Spring 8 week 1 (S8W1), Spring 8 week 2 (S8W2), Summer 8 week 1 (M8W1), Summer 8 week 2 (M8W2), Fall 8 week 1 (F8W1), and Fall 8 week 2 (F8W2). Class size is limited and the program fills quickly.
