" I began travel nursing out of necessity.  With two sons in college and another in high school my wife, a school teacher, and I decided that we needed to earn more money to meet our financial obligations.  My wife volunteered me because it was easier for me to take my career mobile.  After 28 years of practicing locally it was an exciting step for me and it’s paid off well.  Today, my son Jeremy has graduated and is married with an infant son, while Luke is wrapping up his last year at a university and Adam, the youngest, graduated from high school in the spring of 2007.

My background is eclectic and I've practiced in almost every area of nursing, pediatrics, nephrology, obstetrics, oncology, medical surgical and even industrial nursing.  Most of my assignments have been medical surgical but my first love is pediatrics - I love working with kids. Additionally, my assignments have taken me everywhere - Wyoming, Nevada, New Jersey, Connecticut and Tennessee although I do prefer to stay close to home so I can work my 60-hour weeks and then drive home to be with family on my days off.

FASTAFF is the best company I've worked for. I once worked for another large company but came back to FASTAFF after only one assignment - the pay and benefits at FASTAFF are incomparable. And I love my recruiter, Leah. She treats me like I'm the only nurse she works with.   I've enjoyed seeing the country and I've learned new skills.  I have learned so much being exposed to new procedures and techniques and having the opportunity to master them.  Lots of nurses who stay with a single facility may have never encountered some of the things they learned about in school.  I enjoy the excitement both personally and professionally that travel nursing offers me… and I've been able to put my sons through school too!"

That's why I travel with FASTAFF!
